Top-ranked Alabama Football won a squeaker in Austin against the Texas Longhorns 20-19. On a beautiful Saturday with several upsets in college football, Alabama barely escaped the guillotine. I knew a struggle win was possible for the Crimson Tide. Praying for a 33-yard field goal by Reichard with ten seconds was not part of the deal.

During his post-game press conference, the Alabama football head coach addressed the sloppy win,

"“It’s all about discipline. Making the right choices and decisions, whether it’s pre-snap, post-snap, it doesn’t matter. We’ve got to play better, there’s no doubt about that. You’ve got to give Texas a lot of credit. They did a great job today. Sark’s done a great job here, they’ve got a good team. We’ve just got to play better.”"

The Crimson Tide did not resemble a college football powerhouse for three quarters. Suppose you figure in Sarkisian’s familiarity with the Alabama program and three months of game-planning by special assistant to the head coach, Gary Patterson. In that case, it’s not a shock why Alabama struggled. The injury to starting quarterback Quinn Ewers changed how Sark could attack the Alabama defense. Add in missed opportunities in the red zone.

Next are the Studs and Duds for Alabama football.
