Alabama basketball notched yet another road win on Saturday evening, taking down the Missouri Tigers by a score of 85-64. Bama improves to 17-2 and 7-0 in the SEC with the victory.

The Crimson Tide got out to a slow start, but went on a run to take a double-digit lead into the locker room at halftime. Alabama only extended its lead in the second half, running away from the Tigers and fending off several futile comeback attempts.

Freshman forward Noah Clowney led the way with a monster double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds on an efficient 6-11 from the field.

Junior guard Mark Sears contributed 17 points, adding eight rebounds and three steals. Freshman wing Brandon Miller poured in 15 points and eight rebounds on what was ultimately an underwhelming night for the future lottery pick.

Senior guard Jahvon Quinerly and freshman wing Rylan Griffen both continued to provide scoring punch off the bench, hitting three triples apiece. Griffen scored nine points in just 12 minutes of action, while Quinerly scored 13 points and dished out three assists.

Dom Welch did not score, but is seeing increased minutes as he tries to find his role in the rotation. Similarly, Nimari Burnett saw his first action since suffering a wrist injury in mid-December. Burnett is ahead of schedule in his recovery, and played six minutes against Missouri.

As a team, Alabama basketball shot poorly in this game, shooting just 36.8 percent from the field and just 28.6 percent from the three-point line. Instead, gritty defensive play kept the Tide in front throughout the contest.

Bama held Mizzou to even worse shooting splits: below 33 percent from the field and an abysmal 10.7 percent from three. Although the Tigers were without leading scorer Kobe Brown, Alabama’s defensive effort was commendable.
