Alabama Football: 2025 recruiting class update
Alabama Football is already off to a fast start in the 2025 recruiting class. The 2025 cycle seems to be in the distant future but, in reality, it is approaching rapidly. In one year, these kids will be gearing up for their senior seasons, and many will already be committed.
In fact, Alabama Football already has three commitments in the class of 2025, as compared to four pledges in the class of 2024.
The Crimson Tide has recently landed two offensive linemen in 2025, which is a great sign in terms of building depth in the trenches. Alabama has been very deliberate about shifting its mindset and offensive philosophy to a more physical approach this offseason, and these two new prospects just continue that trend.
4-star offensive tackle Mason Short committed roughly two weeks ago, and he is one of the better offensive linemen in the class. The Georgia product is currently ranked as the no. 70 overall player and the sixth-best offensive tackle in the class of 2025. Alabama Football has been one of the elite factories in recruiting and developing offensive tackles, and Short jumped at the opportunity to be next in that prestigious lineage.
This past Thursday, interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover joined the fold. Glover has not registered a ranking in every recruiting outlet, but is generally considered a 3-star level player. Also hailing from the state of Georgia, Glover is currently listed at 290 pounds. Given that he is still just a sophomore, he should be expected to grow into a nice-sized guard for the Crimson Tide by the time he arrives in Tuscaloosa.
The gem of the 2025 class at this point is clearly 5-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, who was already one of the nation’s most electric playmakers as a sophomore this past fall. Williams is considered the sixth-best player in the 2025 class, as well as the nation’s top receiver. Coming out of Saraland, he is currently ranked as the top player in the state of Alabama. Ryan Williams has first round potential, and is a tremendous foundational piece to get this class started.
Alabama Football has a lot of work to do in both the 2024 and 2025 classes, but the direction they are headed in is encouraging. There is plenty more talent Bama could possibly land in the 2025 cycle. Defensive back Anquon Fegans (brother of current Tide cornerback Tre’Quon Fegans) and edge rushers Zion Grady and Jared Smith are all in-state 5-stars in the class.
Expect Coach Saban and the Tide to continue loading up.
