2016: Alabama 45 Clemson 40
Deshaun Watson threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns for Clemson, but it wasn’t enough. Jake Coker threw for 335 yards and two scores while Derrick Henry ran for 158 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries.
Alabama tight end OJ Howard caught five passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Alabama used a successful onside kick in the fourth quarter to swing momentum and a 24-point fourth was enough for the five-point win.

Jalen Hurts led the Crimson Tide all season long, but he started the championship game by completing just three of eight passes for 21 yards. The Alabama offense needed life and Tua Tagovailoa injected it. Tagovailoa took over in an unforgettable championship game.

Alabama’s offensive talent around Mac Jones was too much for Ohio State.
