Be advised, computer model rankings are still hinky four weeks into any college football season. After Week 6, enough data will begin to warrant more serious attention. Still, the algorithms are interesting, especially the consistency in Alabama rankings. Other SEC football teams have a wider range of rankings than the Crimson Tide.

Highest and Lowest Computer Rankings for Alabama and the SEC's other teams
- Georgia Bulldogs (4-0) - The Bulldogs took huge bites out of the Sooners in Athens, winning 41-13. Georgia's highest ranking is No. 1 in college football by the FPI and Connelly's SP+. Jeff Sagarin's model gives the Dawgs their lowest ranking at No. 5.
- Texas Longhorns (4-0) - Massey's model still ranks the Longhorns No. 1. The lowest Texas ranking is No. 7, by the SP+.
- Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) - Bama's highest ranking is No. 4 by Massey, and its lowest is No. 8 by Jeff Sagarin. The FPI and SP+ have the Crimson Tide ranked No. 6.
- LSU Bengal Tigers (3-1) - Highest: No. 8 in the FPI and Lowest: No. 13 by Massey
- Florida Gators (4-0) - Highest: FPI, Massey, and Sagarin, No 10 and Lowest: No. 12 by Connelly's SP+ model
- Tennessee Vols (3-1) - Highest: No. 11 , FPI and Sagarin and Lowest: No. 16, by Massey
- Ole Miss Rebels (3-1) - Highest: No. 12, Massey and Lowest: No. 32 by Connelly's SP+
- Texas A&M Aggies (2-2) - Highest: No. 12, Sagarin, and Lowest: No. 39 in the SP+
