You don't have to look far to find good news with Alabama football these days. After the sky was falling in the aftermath of the season-opening loss to Florida State, the Crimson Tide has reeled off four consecutive wins, including back-to-back over ranked conference opponents Georgia and Vanderbilt.

On the recruiting trail, Alabama recently added commitments from a pair of 2027 prospects, and early Sunday morning, landed fast-rising 2026 offensive tackle Jared Doughty.

The good news continued on Sunday morning with 5-star WR Cederian Morgan, who committed to Alabama in July during the peak of the summer recruiting run that has Kalen DeBoer in line to sign another Top 5 class, ended any flip speculation by announcing his recruitment was completely shut down.

Morgan had still been taking visits, most notably a recent trip to Boulder to check out Coach Prime and Colorado. The Buffaloes had gotten Morgan out for visits twice, and seemed like Alabama's biggest competition to keep the in-state star at home.

Morgan is ranked as the No. 23 overall prospect and the No. 3 WR in the 2026 class, per the 247 composite rankings.

The Alexander City, Alabama native originally chose Alabama over Colorado, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn. The Buffs seemed like the biggest competition to flip him, but the rough start to the season for Deion Sanders and his team probably ended that.

Under Kalen DeBoer, Alabama will be a top destination for elite WRs

Some Alabama fans may not like it, but this is more of a passing offense now with Kalen DeBoer at the helm and Ryan Grubb calling plays. And Ty Simpson is running that offense with ruthless precision, showing everyone what it should look like when the ball gets spread around.

Look at the numbers from Alabama's top three wide receivers this season:

Germie Bernard: 25 catches, 392 yards, 5 TDs
Ryan Williams: 21 catches, 336 yards, 3 TDs
Isaiah Horton: 18 catches, 236 yards, 3 TDs

That's not to mention an emerging role for WR4 Lotzeir Brooks, who is seeing an increase in snaps every week and has turned nine receptions into 158 yards.

You can see the appeal of this offense for wide receivers, and Morgan decided he had seen enough to know that he made the right decision in July when he made his initial commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Other programs won't give up completely with two months to go until the early signing period, but Morgan's announcement is tremendous news for DeBoer and the staff.
