Alabama has had a recent run of 5-star commitments, with more on the horizon, but for a while, CB Jorden Edmonds was the only 5-star committed to Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide in the 2026 cycle.
Edmonds pledged to Alabama on March 26th and has remained solid with his commitment ever since, despite flip rumors and plenty of pressure from other programs to bring him in for official visits over the summer.
He notably rebuffed recent overtures from in-state Georgia, as Kirby Smart desperately tried to convince the elite corner to come to Athens for the weekend of June 20th.
Edmonds has not only consistently reaffirmed his commitment to Alabama, he has also been among the biggest recruiters in the class. He swapped his official visit to Tuscaloosa from June 20th to June 6th so he could be on campus to help recruit fellow Georgia high schooler Xavier Griffin. When the 5-star LB announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday, Edmonds was in attendance.
You never know until the paperwork is signed, but Edmonds is as solid a commitment as it gets in this era of college football. But programs like Georgia and others won't give up. They will keep recruiting Edmonds, and try their best to get him on campus for a game during the season. But Alabama can hang its hat on the relationship it has built with Edmonds, particularly from DB coach Maurice Linguist, who continues to be one of the best recruiters and developers in the country.
No. 1 CB Jorden Edmonds made the hour trip & tossed on his Alabama bucket hat for No. 1 LB Xavier Griffin’s commitment.

Edmonds says Alabama is "not done" on the recruiting trail.
Alabama currently has 16 players committed in the 2026 class. They had five coming into the month of June. The Tide landed 10 commitments in June, and then opened July with a commitment from WR Brian Williams Jr. on Tuesday.
Alabama looks to be in line to add two more commitments from 5-star prospects just this week. 5-star WR Cederian Morgan is expected to announce for the Crimson Tide at Noon today. S Jireh Edwards has been trending to Alabama for quite some time, and the elite safety should make it official on Saturday.
In between, Alabama is projected to land 4-star DL Nolan Wilson, a Top 50 overall player in the country.
Alabama's recruiting has skyrocketed this summer, jumping up from a class ranked in the 40/50 range all the way up to the Top 10. By the end of the week, the class will likely be in the Top 5, maybe Top 3.
Edmonds joining the class back in March helped kick-off this big recruiting surge for DeBoer and company. He has been as important as any recruit in the country for the Tide's class.
