5-star Alabama WR commitment Cederian Morgan is already one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class. He's ranked as the No. 19 overall player and the No. 2 WR in the class, and his standing looks pretty secure.
He did nothing to hurt his stock in Benjamin Russell's season-opening loss to Opelika. Morgan caught eight passes for 177 yards and one electrifying touchdown. Morgan caught a pass on a simple drag route and took it 87 yards to the house, putting his skills on full display.

Morgan is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. He should not be able to move that fast. It's easy to see why he is one of the most coveted prospects in the country, and why Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide made the in-state star such a priority in this class.
Cederian Morgan is going to be a major weapon in the Alabama offense
Morgan committed to Alabama back on July 2nd, amid a ridiculous recruiting run for DeBoer and the Crimson Tide. Morgan is one of five 5-stars committed to Alabama in the 2026 cycle, along with CB Jorden Edmonds, LB Xavier Griffin, S Jireh Edwards, and fellow in-state star RB EJ Crowell.
Morgan will need some technical refinement once he gets to college, but that's why he chose to attend college in Tuscaloosa. Alabama WR coach JaMarcus Shephard is one of the best receiver coaches in the business. He'll get Morgan right, quickly, and there's likely to be an opportunity for Morgan to get on the field right away as a true freshman next season.
Morgan will join a WR room in Tuscaloosa next season that will still have star Ryan Williams, who will be going into his junior season. Alabama will have to replace Germie Bernard, however, who is entering his final season of eligibility. A big season for Miami (FL) transfer Isaiah Horton could lead him to test the NFL Draft waters a year early, too.
In any case, Morgan is likely going to have an opportunity to hit the field right away. What DeBoer and this coaching staff have shown immediately is that they aren't scared to play freshmen. They've also shown the best players will play, regardless of seniority. Williams got on the field immediately, starting his first career game for the Tide last season. It took no time to see why.
Morgan will hope to carve out a similar path.
