Every week, 5-star Alabama RB commitment EJ Crowell is setting social media ablaze with a ridiculous play.

The Jackson High School product is one of the top players in the country, and one of the prizes of Alabama's 2026 recruiting class. A week ago, Crowell's Saquon Barkley-like hurdle went viral.

This week, Crowell decided to channel his inner-Derrick Henry. Instead of jumping over defenders, Crowell figured it would be more efficient to just run through everyone in his way. He practically runs through the entire defense on his way to the endzone for one of his four touchdowns Thursday night:

Crowell only carried the ball seven times for Jackson on Thursday, but still produced 102 yards and four touchdowns. For the season, Crowell is up to 1290 rushing yards on just 99 carries with 17 touchdowns.

Not bad for a kid who is supposed to be a junior. Crowell chose to reclassify into the 2026 class out of what I assume is sheer boredom with high school football. He's been one of the most dominant players in the state of Alabama the last two years. It may have also been an act of mercy, one that high school coaches around the state are more than happy about.

Crowell committed to Alabama over the summer and officially announced his recruitment was shut down last weekend.

EJ Crowell will make an immediate impact at Alabama

For some freshmen, it takes time before they are ready to contribute. I don't expect that to be the case for Crowell in Tuscaloosa. He's going to come in and immediately compete for carries. What will decide how much he plays next season will probably be how quickly he can pick up the pass-blocking protections.

Alabama has been missing that elite RB that fans grew accustomed to during the Nick Saban era. From Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson to Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs, it's been a while since there was truly an elite runner in the Tide's backfield. Jahmyr Gibbs was the last one. Crowell has next.

The future of Alabama's RB room is in good shape, even with Jam Miller in his final season of eligibility. Redshirt freshman Kevin Riley has been a surprising revelation this year, and freshman AK Dear has flashed when he's gotten carries in garbage time. Those two plus Crowell will make a formidable trio next season, with anyone else who sticks around being icing on the cake.
