If it wasn't bad enough that Alabama landed a 5-star quarterback out of LSU's backyard already with Baton Rouge native Elijah Haven, salt was rubbed into the wound on Friday night.

In the midst of another prolific performance for Dunham School, Haven threw his 147th career passing touchdown. That number officially set the record for the most in the history of Louisiana high school football:

Elijah Haven is now the all-time passing TD record holder in Louisiana

Haven committed to Alabama back in April and never really gave the home state the time of day during his recruitment. There was some concern once that Lane Kiffin took the LSU job that things might change, but Haven was an Alabama lean for a long time and hasn't wavered since joining the Crimson Tide's recruiting class.

He's the exact type of tall, big-armed QB that DeBoer has always coveted for his offense. He'll need some refining at the college level, as any young QB does, but the physical tools are all very impressive. The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder can make all the throws:

Alabama has two prolific, record-setting quarterbacks in its 2027 class. The most prolific and decorated QB in Alabama state history - 4-star Trent Seaborn - is also committed to Alabama and will join an elite QB room.

Kalen DeBoer has a track record of developing quarterbacks that continues to serve Alabama well on the recruiting trail. He has signed a 5-star recruit in back-to-back classes with Keelon Russell and Jett Thomalla, and is on track to sign another 5-star in December when Haven puts pen to paper.

Haven and Seaborn will enter a loaded QB room in 2027 that should still include both Russell and Thomalla, though the sharks will be circling on Thomalla in the offseason to try to get him to enter the portal for a starting path next season.

Regardless, Alabama is in tremendous shape with the future of the room.

Haven being the future of the Tide's QB room would certainly be insult to injury for LSU. It's tough enough when you let a 5-star prospect leave the state. It's even more difficult when his name is in the record books. It's even more difficult when that quarterback is headed to Alabama, of all places.

Landing a 5-star QB out of LSU's backyard in Baton Rouge is one of the most significant recruiting wins of DeBoer's tenure in Tuscaloosa so far.
