One of Alabama's top targets in the 2026 class is 5-star LB Xavier Griffin. Griffin is fresh off his official visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend, and predictions have come in on Griffin landing in the Tide's class ever since he decommitted from USC.

And yet, Griffin remains uncommitted and will take an official visit this weekend to Texas, with the Longhorns and Ohio State viewed as the biggest competitors to Kalen DeBoer and company for his services.

However, a recent social media post by Griffin has Alabama fans even more excited about the prospect of landing the blue-chip LB:

Griffin re-posted the above on his Instagram story. It featured a photo of him in an Alabama uniform promoting a story about the Crimson Tide trending for four 5-star prospects in the 2026 class. Griffin is one of those 5-stars, though his recruitment is far from over.

Alabama fans are growing restless for the beginning of the big summer recruiting run

There have been numerous teases, including a Hayes Fawcett tweet on Thursday, for Alabama to begin the long-expected big summer recruiting run. Patience is the name of the game in recruiting, but that doesn't make it any easier for fans.

Alabama did land a commitment this week in 4-star OT Sam Utu and picked up official predictions to land 5-star S Jireh Edwards and 3-star WR Brian Williams Jr., but predictions aren't commitments.

Fawcett's post seems to tease that Alabama has three commitments on the horizon. None of them have broken yet, though Fawcett has a propensity to tease things days before they happen.

As things stand, Alabama only has six total commitments in the 2026 class. That has led to a silly narrative that the Crimson Tide is behind on the recruiting trail, despite the fact that no team in the country has a higher average rating per recruit than Alabama. And that's not to mention how many elite prospects have Alabama in their final group of contenders.

Alabama has two big recruiting weekends left. The biggest will be the weekend of June 20th, when DeBoer will have a big in-state flavor to the weekend featuring 5-stars Cederian Morgan, Anthony "Tank" Jones, and Ezavier Crowell.

The anxiety for Tide fans won't last too much longer. The run is coming, even if it feels like it will never arrive. Alabama has built a ton of momentum on the trail, and that momentum is getting ready to turn into commitments.
