Kalen DeBoer has put Alabama in contention for yet another 5-star recruit in the 2026 class. The Tide has been trending for multiple 5-stars throughout the process, and another one might be added to that list now.

5-star ATH Brandon Arrington, who could play WR or CB at the next level, was in Tuscaloosa for his official visit to Alabama this weekend. It looks like Alabama has made a big move in his recruitment, and following his visit, Arrington provided an eye-opening quote that has Tide fans dreaming of another big fish:

Arrington is the No. 10 overall player in the country according to the 247 composite. He has his pick of schools. Arrington has track speed and ran a 10.21 100-meter during his junior season. He is a gifted corner, but his speed makes him an intriguing offensive weapon in college. It wouldn't be a shock to see him take snaps on both sides of the ball. He is that dynamic.

Entering this weekend, Texas A&M was seen as the clear leader in his recruitment. The Aggies have made a big push, and the On3 RPM has them as a pretty big favorite at the moment. We'll see if that updates in the coming days as more intel comes in from his visit to Alabama.

Alabama's California connnection has made a big impression on Arrington

One of the biggest things Alabama has working in its favor is a DB room littered with California kids. Domani Jackson, Zabien Brown, Dijon Lee, and Chuck McDonald all hail from the state of California. That familiarity has no doubt helped the Tide in its pursuit of the Golden State native.

Also working in Alabama's favor is the fact that Arrington wants to play early, and DB coach Maurice Linguist, along with DC Kane Wommack, have shown a willingness to play freshmen in the secondary. Brown was a day-one starter at CB last season for Alabama, and fellow freshmen Jaylen Mbakwe and Zay Mincey saw plenty of playing time.

Freshmen Dijon Lee and Ivan Taylor are two players to watch this season who could get on the field immediately.

Wommack rotated his defensive backs more than Bama fans were used to under Nick Saban. That could be another thing helping the Tide in its recruitment of DBs. Wommack likes to rotate and play a lot of guys.

If Alabama made a move for Arrington, the staff could be getting ready to close on a historic class of defensive backs. Alabama already has a commitment from the No. 2 CB in the country in Jorden Edmonds, along with another corner who is ranked in the Top-100 nationally (Zyan Gibson). On3 has Arrington as the No. 1 CB in the country.

Alabama has an official prediction from Steve Wiltfong to land 5-star safety Jireh Edwards, and the Tide remains in contention for 5-star safety Jett Washington.

Will Alabama sign all of those guys? Probably not, but the likelihood has certainly increased thanks to the big move made with Arrington over the weekend.
