Alabama has been trending for 5-star Elijah Haven, the No. 1 QB in the 2027 recruiting class, for quite some time now.
He'll soon make his college choice official, with a decision date finally locked in for April 25th. When Haven made the decision date official, he also trimmed his list down to three, cutting Florida and keeping just Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia.
Now, Haven is down to just two. Auburn was trimmed off his list, and per Hayes Fawcett, Haven will now be choosing between the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs only:

Elijah Haven trimming his list again makes Alabama the obvious choice for the 5-star
Again, it's been trending this way for a long time now. Haven has been to Tuscaloosa countless times, most recently visiting again during Alabama's A-Day scrimmage this past Saturday. But with Georgia the only competition left for Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide, Haven has telegraphed his final decision.
That's not a slight against Georgia, either. The Bulldogs just already have their QB of the future in 2028 5-star Jayden Wade. And Wade is rumored to be pursuing a reclassification in the 2027 class. They aren't going to potentially alienate Wade by signing another QB who could be in the same class as him. At least not one as highly thought of as Haven is.
That puts Alabama in the driver's seat for Haven, with no passengers.
If DeBoer and the Tide staff land the Baton Rouge native next weekend, it will mark the third consecutive recruiting class in which Alabama has added a 5-star quarterback. He'll join Keelon Russell (2025) and Jett Thomalla (2026).
Russell is in the lead to win Alabama's starting QB job this fall, and with his current trajectory, he'll likely leave for the NFL Draft after the 2027 season. That would put Haven in position to battle Thomalla for the starting QB job in 2028 as a redshirt freshman or sophomore.
