Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football are heading into a big summer for recruiting. With only five commitments, the Tide will be looking to fill out its class this summer with a plethora of elite prospects slated for official visits.
Alabama has a lot of momentum on the trail. They recently took the lead for 5-star LB Xavier Griffin, who decommitted from USC late last week. They are in good shape for the top three prospects in the state of Alabama, too. A big recruiting run should be expected soon.
2nd year offensive lineman Casey Poe is ready to do his part to help the Crimson Tide lock up another elite recruiting class. On Wednesday, he took to social media to make his plea to prospective prospects to join a program that will develop them on and off the field:
Poe took a redshirt during his first season at Alabama. He was a consensus 4-star prospect in the 2024 class. He was ranked as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman and the No. 76 overall player in the 247 Composite rankings. Poe's first day at Alabama was the day Nick Saban retired. While that was undoubtedly a shock, he seems to have settled in nicely.
In his post, Poe credited former Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who is now the program's Director of Player Development. He also credited his body transformation to Alabama strength coach David Ballou.
Casey Poe will be a versatile depth option for the Crimson Tide in 2025
Poe won't be a starter in 2025, and he may not even be in the two-deep, but he will help provide quality depth for the Alabama offensive line. He can play both inside and outside, which will help him potentially garner some snaps.
Poe is one of the rare players who doesn't feel like he's in a rush to get on the field. He seems content to sit back and develop, knowing his time will come if he puts his head down and keeps working. He seems to be making that same kind of pitch to prospective recruits around the country.
There will be a lot of playing time up for grabs in 2026. Alabama will likely be replacing four of its starting five offensive linemen after the season, including all three interior spots. Another season of developing and working could lead to Poe pushing for a starting spot the following season.
