Landing elite talent at WR won't be an issue for Alabama football with Kalen DeBoer's coaching staff. WR coach JaMarcus Shephard is one of the best in the business, and he and DeBoer have a track record of developing talent at the position.

DeBoer and Shephard reeled back in 5-star Ryan Williams, who decommitted from the Crimson Tide following Nick Saban's retirement. They landed a couple of 4-star WRs in the 2025 class in Lotzeir Brooks and Derek Meadows, and in the 2026 class, they have a commitment from elite 5-star Cederian Morgan.

Now, Alabama is turning its attention to one of the top overall talents in the 2027 class. 5-star WR Monshun Sales is ranked as the No. 2 receiver in his class in the composite rankings, and has all the top programs salivating about him wearing their colors. At 6-foot-5, he has elite size that he combines with elite playmaking talent.

While every program covets Sales, Alabama is already considered one of the favorites in his recruitment. According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, the Crimson Tide will be in the mix with Sales all the way through his recruitment:

Monshun Sales sets a gameday visit with Alabama for this fall

Sales, an Indianapolis native, will travel to Tuscaloosa for a visit this fall on November 8th for a tilt against LSU, per RecruitsBama:

Alabama sits in a good spot for Sales, and the environment in Bryant-Denny when LSU comes to town is always an elite experience. There's a long way to go in his recruitment, but this one is trending toward an Alabama vs. Ohio State battle, two of the top programs in recent seasons for WR recruitment and development.

Sales has all the traits to be an elite WR at the next level. He has size and speed that you can't teach. If you can combine that with elite coaching that he would get in Tuscaloosa with Shephard as his position coach, then he could become a truly special player.

If Alabama can land Sales, he would arrive at the perfect time, likely filling the void left by Williams, who is likely to turn pro after next season, and form a formidable duo with Cederian Morgan in Tuscaloosa.
