Alabama made a late addition to its 2026 roster after the close of the Transfer Portal and this year's recruiting cycle by snagging JUCO All-American WR Tyler Henderson, who was initially heading to Kennesaw State but flipped to the Crimson Tide.

Henderson, who played at Gulf Coast Community College in Mississippi last season, was an All-American at that level and put up some monster numbers. He led the junior college ranks in receiving yards (1299) and touchdowns (12).

Henderson had a bunch of offers, but was mainly courted by group-of-five programs. The opportunity to play for Alabama was too good to pass up.

Henderson is listed at 6-foot-0 and 175 pounds with some serious breakaway speed.

JUCO WR Tyler Henderson is an intriguing depth piece for Kalen DeBoer

Alabama didn't land the big fish in the Transfer Portal it courted in former Auburn WR Cam Coleman, but DeBoer and company have done a nice job in finding quality depth with serious upside.

NC State's Noah Rogers is a former 5-star recruit who will push for an immediate starting role in Tuscaloosa. After landing only 4-star Cederian Morgan in the early signing period, the Crimson Tide added intriguing under-the-radar high schoolers in MJ Mathis, Aubrey Walker, and Amari Sabb, who is the younger brother of Alabama safety Keon Sabb.

Now, Henderson has joined the fray, giving Alabama 11 receivers on the depth chart for the 2026 season.

There's an opportunity for several newcomers to crack the two-deep and push for immediate playing time. Ryan Williams and Lotzeir Brooks will be a formidable 1-2 punch, but the competition is wide open after that. WR3 seems likely to come down to Rogers, returning sophomore Derek Meadows, and the freshman Morgan, but Henderson has impressive tape and could potentially surprise and work his way onto the field quickly.

In the very least, he's another nice piece of depth who could give Alabama some snaps if needed.
