News and notes from Alabama Crimson Tide athletics from this past weekend:

Alabama baseball sweeps Jax Baseball Classic, wins miraculous game over Ohio State

It had already been a good weekend for Alabama baseball after wins over Coastal Carolina and No. 12 NC State on Friday and Saturday. A loss to Ohio State wasn't going to spoil that, and the Crimson Tide fell behind 10-0 going into the bottom of the 4th inning. The game was over. Until it wasn't.

Justin Lebron showed why he's one of the best players in the country by cranking out two three-run home runs to help the Crimson Tide get back into the game. Alabama clawed all the way back to within 10-9 in the 9th inning, and then Will Hodo belted a three-run, walk-off home run to give Rob Vaughn's team an improbable 12-10 win to move to 8-0 on the season.

Alabama softball goes 4-1 at Easton Bama Bash

Those who have been waiting for Alabama softball's bats to break out finally got their wish this weekend in Tuscaloosa at the Easton Bama Bash. The weekend started poorly with more offensive struggles in a 2-1 loss to Virginia Tech on Friday.

The bats awakened from there with the Crimson Tide scoring 48 runs over the next four games and Alabama won all four games via run-rule. They hammered Southern Utah 9-1 in five innings on Friday night, beat Drake a combined 30-2 in a Saturday double-header, and then got revenge by beating No. 15/17 Virginia Tech 9-1 in five innings on Sunday to finish off a productive weekend.

Abby Duchscherer went 10-14 at the plate and had hits in each game. She had two doubles, a homer, and drove in six runs to help lead the Crimson Tide to a 4-1 mark and a split with a good Hokies squad.

Alabama is now 10-6 on the season and should be able to stack some wins this next weekend with two games against UAB, two against Furman, and a matchup with Southern Illinois.

Women's Basketball comes from behind to knock off Auburn

It was nice to see one of the Alabama programs beat Auburn recently after the Tigers got the better of the Crimson Tide in men's basketball and gymnastics over the last week. It looked like more the of the season on Sunday as Auburn held a 29-13 lead in the second quarter. Aaliyah Nye took over from there and led Alabama on a 17-0 run to end the first half and put the Tide ahead 30-29 at the break.

Alabama outscored Auburn by 15 points in the second half to ultimately cruise to a 66-50 win. Nye led the way with 29 points on 6-of-11 shooting from three.

The win moves Kristy Curry's team to 22-6 on the season and 9-5 in the SEC. Only two more regular season games remain for the Crimson Tide before the SEC Tournament. They'll take on LSU in Tuscaloosa on Thursday before finishing up in Norman next Sunday against Oklahoma.

Alabama is an NCAA Tournament lock and currently just playing for seeding.
