Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama staff are exhausting all options to find a QB or two in the 2026 class. The Tide staff has been in hot pursuit of Iowa State commit Jett Thomalla and two-sport star Matt Ponatoski. Last week, Alabama added an offer in the '26 class to Tayden Kaawa.
On Sunday, Alabama extended another offer in the 2026 class to fast-rising composite 3-star Bryson Beaver. Beaver recently de-committed from Boise State, and his recruitment has been picking up steam. He reported offers from Oregon, followed by Ole Miss, and now the Crimson Tide is getting involved in his recruitment.
Per multiple reports, Beaver is in Tuscaloosa right now on an unofficial visit.

Last month, Beaver was one of 15 quarterbacks invited to compete in the Elite 11 Finals. The Murrieta, California, native has seen his stock steadily rising since then, and he is becoming one of the most sought-after QBs in the 2026 class.
Alabama is likely pushing for two QBs in the 2026 class
We've talked about it before, and while it hasn't been officially stated, DeBoer and company are certainly moving like they would like to add two quarterbacks in this class. It makes sense considering they currently only have three quarterbacks on the roster, and many believe that only one of the current crop of three will be on the roster next season.
Alabama is still awaiting a decision from Thomalla. He is committed to Iowa State, but the Crimson Tide is hoping to get him back in town for an official visit after he took an unofficial trip to Tuscaloosa a couple of weeks ago.
Ponatoski is the wildcard of the class. He might be the most talented QB on Alabama's board, but the reality is he may end up playing pro baseball and never enrolling in college.
Alabama recently extended an offer to Kaawa, and the Polynesian signal-caller seemed enthusiastic about getting to Tuscaloosa for a visit. That seems likely to happen next weekend, with Kaawa joining a loaded crop of official visitors to the Capstone.
None of the players Alabama is pursuing is as talented as last year's signee, Keelon Russell. Alabama swung for the fences with the top prospects in this class, but Russell's presence on the roster made that a difficult sell.
All four QBs Alabama is in pursuit of are developmental types who would seemingly be comfortable sitting behind Russell for two years before getting a legitimate shot at the starting job.
