The Alabama Crimson Tide are on the precipice of something amazing. It has been over a quarter century since the baseball team last made it to the College World Series. 1999 is a long time ago. Now, we are on the verge of seeing Rob Vaughn's team punch its ticket to Omaha. After shutting out the St. John's Red Storm 8-0 in Game 1 of the Tuscaloosa Regional, Alabama can almost taste it...
When he was informed of it being a record-setting sellout at The Joe, Vaughn said this to the media.
"Everything, I mean, absolutely everything. I said this for weeks now, Tuscaloosa loves a winner. It's great. Everybody comes to me and says, 'Man, look at what you're building. What you're building, it's what these kids did. It's what those guys did.'"
Vaughn continued by expressing how anyone and everyone is buying into what this team is all about.
"We've said it for weeks, man. The strength of the team is the team. I think that's the most fun part about it is you've got some superstars running around the field, but the strength of it is still the unit. That's what these kids have built. They deserve that tonight. And like I said, this time of year, they're just taking us along for the ride."
Here is everything Vaughn said at the podium about Sewell-Thomas Stadium selling out on Saturday.
Head coach Rob Vaughn was asked what the sellout crowd meant to him tonight. Here is what he said:

Alabama can almost taste Omaha after shutting out St. John's in Game 1
Alabama was propelled in this one offensively by centerfielder Bryce Fowler, shortstop Justin Lebron, and second baseman Brennan Holt. Each had two runs batted in apiece. While Vaughn totally expects for the Red Storm to give its all on Sunday, all Alabama has to do is win one of its next two games to punch its ticket to the Men's College World Series. Thus far, three programs have already advanced...
For Alabama to join the likes of West Virginia, Troy, and Ole Miss, the Crimson Tide cannot afford to take its foot off the gas. While there was some hullabaloo about having a late start for Game 1 of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional, Alabama and its rabid fanbase responded triumphantly. School may be out for summer, but there is still some baseball to be played. Can Alabama win its first national title?

In the event Alabama gets past St. John's, the Crimson Tide will be sorted into one of two groupings of four. In each of those two groupings of four, there will be a double-elimination tournament, with the winner advancing to a best-of-three championship series. With the top two seeds in UCLA and Georgia Tech already out of it, Alabama could take advantage of this more chaotic field than normal.
At this time, Alabama and its fanbase need to take the rest of the Super Regional one pitch at a time.
