With how hot Kalen DeBoer has been out on the recruiting trail for Alabama football, is it possible that even more good news is coming for him in the near future? You know what, that's very much on the table for the second-year Crimson Tide head coach.
Right now, everyone is officially on 'commit watch' for 5-star pass-rusher Tank Jones. He's without question one of the best EDGE prospects in the country and Alabama has been working hard to land his commitment. They're not the only ones.
This is a three-team battle between Alabama, Texas A&M and Oregon. According to recruiting guru Steve Wiltfong, the expectation is that Jones is going to be making his decision sooner rather than later. Another big commitment for the Tide on the way?

5-star EDGE Tank Jones is expected to commit soon and Alabama is in the hunt
No one knows exactly when Jones is going to reveal his decision, but if Wiltfong says that it's coming soon, no one should be surprised to see Hayes Fawcett post one of his popular graphics letting everyone know where Jones is committing to. Who knows, that graphic might arrive this weekend.
It's hard to get a gauge of where Jones is leaning, but the fanbases for all three programs are beyond hopeful that the 2026 playmaker will give them the news that they're hoping for. It goes without saying, but loads of folks in Tuscaloosa are sitting on pins and needles waiting for Jones to make the call.
Throughout his recruitment, the 6-3, 240-pounder has picked up nearly 40 offers. This year, he took official visits to Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M, Miami and Auburn, but he's indeed down to the Tide, Aggies and Ducks.
He's ranked the No. 4 EDGE in the country, No. 1 player from Alabama and No. 18 prospect overall for his class according to the 247Sports Composite. There's extra pressure on DeBoer to land Jones with him being such a highly-coveted in-state talent. DeBoer must do everything he can to land Jones and improve what's already the No. 3 recruiting class in the country.
