Alabama football trending to flip 4-star LSU WR commit Derek Meadows
Following No. 1 recruiting Bryce Underwood's decision to flip his commitment from LSU to Michigan, it was widely expected that 4-star WR Derek Meadows would ultimately flip his commitment to another school as well.
On Wednesday, Crystal Ball picks started coming in for Alabama to be the ultimate landing spot for the Las Vegas, Nevada product.
National 247 recruiting analyst Tom Loy was the first to make the prediction:
Alabama recently saw its highest-rated WR recruit Caleb Cunningham flip his commitment to Ole Miss. The Tide staff has been working on getting a second WR in this class. Florida commit Naeshaun Montgomery has been a top target, but it appears with Meadows becoming available he has attracted the bulk of their attention.
Alabama was high on Meadows' list prior to his commitment to LSU. The Crimson Tide has stayed in contact and that relationship has paid off as we approach the Early Signing Period.
This recruitment isn't quite over as LSU is working to get Meadows on campus this weekend for the final game of the regular season. Alabama is working to do the same. Where Meadows ends up this weekend will likely be a sign of his intentions if he hasn't made an announcement before then.
Alabama's 2025 class currently ranks No. 2 in the 247 composite rankings.
