Alabama working to flip LSU WR commitment to replace Caleb Cunningham in 2025 class
Bryce Underwood's flip to Michigan is causing a domino effect in recruiting. That should come as no surprise considering Underwood is widely considered the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 class. His flip could lead to Alabama losing 5-star Ty Haywood, who the Wolverines are aggressively pursuing and throwing big NIL money at.
But the flip could also benefit the Crimson Tide as Alabama is in contention to flip 4-star LSU WR commit Derek Meadows. Meadows is not expected to sign with LSU following Underwood's flip, and while Michigan is the favorite to land his signature, Alabama is very much a contender.
Alabama was a contender in Meadows' recruitment the first time around before he committed to LSU. Now, the Crimson Tide has circled back to Meadows in the wake of Caleb Cunningham's decision to flip to Ole Miss.
Meadows is one of the most physically gifted WRs in this class and has the upside to be a big-time difference-maker at the collegiate level. He's listed at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds and has blazing speed.
Alabama is hoping to add a second WR to this class after losing Cunningham. They recently hosted Florida commit Naeshaun Montgomery for an official visit for the Mercer game and he remains a flip target.
I'm not sure if Alabama would take both guys or just the one and will take whoever makes the decision first. There hasn't been a timetable for Montgomery, but Meadows is expected to make his decision quickly.
