Is Alabama Football the SEC's Big Dog after taking down the Georgia Bulldogs? Let's review the SEC standings after college football's Week 5 slate of games and unveil a new SEC Power Ranking.

As always, "each week's rankings are a snapshot of 'now' and not a prediction of how teams will finish the season. They are not the product of a computer model and are unabashedly subjective."

WEEK 5 SEC Football Standings

  • Ole Miss 3-0 and 5-0 Overall leads the SEC
  • Five SEC teams have 1-0 SEC records. Four of them are undefeated. Missouri and Vanderbilt are also 5-0 overall. Oklahoma and Texas A&M are 4-0. Alabama is 3-1.
  • SEC teams at 1-1 in SEC play are Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU.
  • The bottom six teams in SEC records are Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Florida at 0-1; South Carolina at 1-2; followed by Auburn and Kentucky at 0-2.
  • The Texas Longhorns are yet to play an SEC game.
  • Overall, every SEC football team has a winning record except Florida at 1-3, Arkansas at 2-3, and Kentucky at 2-2.

In the updated SEC Power Rankings, little changed at the bottom, but there were big changes in the upper third of SEC teams.
