It seems like 'black hoodie Kalen DeBoer' simply can't be stopped. The Alabama football team is riding high and understandably so. In primetime on Saturday, the Tide took down Georgia in Athens for the program's biggest win of the season.
Unfortunately for Kirby Smart, Alabama wasn't done taking him to school just with that performance. On Monday afternoon, news broke that 4-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams has shut down his recruitment and committed to DeBoer. According to Hayes Fawcett, the elite 2027 prospect was down to Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State, but the Tide won the big-time recruiting battle.

4-star lineman Jatori Williams has committed to Alabama over Georgia and others
How could this news get any better for DeBoer? Well, Williams was actually on Georgia's campus this past weekend on an unofficial visit. He got a close-up look at Alabama posting the remarkable road upset. With Williams being an in-state product too, it no question makes this moment extra special for him and his family.
According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6-5, 320-pounder from Central High in Phenix, Ala., is ranked four stars, the No. 6 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 150 prospect overall for the '27 class. Throughout his recruitment, he has picked up 13 offers.
When it was reported that Williams was visiting UGA for the Bama game, we don't blame fans if they were a bit concerned. Losing an in-state playmaker always sucks, but the last thing people want to see is for a huge talent to bolt for either UGA or Tennessee.
A disaster was averted here, with Bama's win over the weekend clearly making an impact on the future Tuscaloosa hoss. Phenix is around three hours away from the Alabama campus, so Williams won't have to travel too far to play his college ball. Everyone will have to wait until December 2026 for him to make things official during the Early Signing Period, but for now Tide supporters can celebrate this head-turning news.
