Over the weekend, Alabama, as expected, missed out on 4-star RB Tyson Robinson, who committed to Michigan.
But all hope is not lost in the 2027 class as Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide pursue multiple high-level targets at the position.
One of the newer targets in the class for Alabama is St. Louis' Kingston Miles, a 4-star RB and the No. 293 overall player in the 247 composite. The Crimson Tide extended an offer to Miles back near the end of March and has since begun surging in his recruitment.
Alabama RB coach Robert Gillespie has made Miles a priority, visiting him multiple times recently. In the aftermath of the latest visit, Miles told BamaOnLine's Blake Byler that Alabama was at the top of his board:
Last Wednesday, Alabama RB coach Robert Gillespie paid a visit to 4-star Kingston Miles. Was offered in March, OV set for June.

Alabama has made significant strides in the recruitment of 4-star RB Kingston Miles
Miles has an official visit set up with Alabama on June 19th in what could be a pivotal weekend in his recruitment. Pulling him away from in-state Missouri, which has long been seen as the favorite, won't be easy, but DeBoer and company have positioned themselves nicely here.
Miles had an electric junior season at St. Mary's High School, producing over 2000 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was a two-way player, adding 62 tackles on defense for good measure.
It appears that Alabama would like to sign two running backs in this class, as it did in the 2026 cycle. There's no EJ Crowell on the board, but a trio of 4-star prospects are at the top of the board and more than capable of developing into difference-makers at the college level.
Along with Miles, the Crimson Tide has also been in hot pursuit of Gainesville (GA)'s Nigel Newkirk and Winnsboro (LA)'s Trey Martin.
3-star Tai Phillips from Columbia (SC) has also been a target of Alabama at the position.
Taking two running backs in this cycle makes sense. Alabama signed two in the 2026 class with Crowell and 3-star gem Trae'shawn Brown. After this season, Appalachian State transfer Khalifa Keith will exhaust his eligibility, and you have to think that with the likelihood of both Crowell and Brown taking carries from upperclassmen, someone will likely enter the Transfer Portal among the trio of Daniel Hill, Kevin Riley, and AK Dear.
Official visit season gets started for Alabama over the weekend of May 29th, and DeBoer and company have built some serious momentum on the trail heading into the weekend after landing commitments from 5-star QB Elijah Haven and 4-star LB Kenneth Simon II.
The last two summers have proven extremely fruitful for the Crimson Tide, and the Summer of 2026 is shaping up to do the same.
