The Alabama football team has been in need of something to build momentum for the 2026 class and it has arrived on Thursday night. Moments ago, Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff landed their second known verbal commit for the '26 haul.

Cornerback Zyan Gibson was the first one on board and he now has some company thanks to a 6-4, 285-pound lineman picking the Crimson Tide. That'd be Atlanta, Ga., product Chris Booker, who told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he'll be playing his college ball in Tuscaloosa:

Offensive lineman Chris Booker has committed to Kalen DeBoer and Alabama

Per Fawcett, Booker was also considering Kentucky and USF, but he knew that he wanted to play for Alabama at the next level. Booker has flown a bit under the radar this cycle, as he's currently unranked on 247Sports. However, you can expect that to change soon.

In addition to Kentucky, Alabama and USF, he holds additional offers from Mississippi State, Wake Forest and others. The Tide put a scholarship on the table for Booker on Feb. 1 and it took less than three weeks for him to decide to shut his recruitment down. That's typically what happens when Alabama comes calling.

Now, DeBoer is going to keep working hard to get more guys to join Gibson and Booker. On Wednesday night, two new quarterback offers went out, including one to 5-star Houston pledge Keisean Henderson. The Texas product has said he's locked in with Houston, but will Bama now give him something to think about?

We should find out more about that soon, but the good news for DeBoer is that Gibson is no longer the lone '26 verbal who is going to be Alabama-bound. Booker is excited for this moment and he should be. He'll now look to develop into yet another great offensive lineman who has been lucky enough to don a crimson helmet.
