Former Alabama left guard Tyler Booker is heading to the NFL after three seasons along the offensive line in Tuscaloosa. The former top-100 recruit is a likely Day 2 pick this spring in Green Bay where the 2025 NFL Draft is hosted, but Booker is already becoming a star at the podium in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine.
While Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell stole the show with his workout, Booker had one of the best quotes of the entire combine on Saturday when he told reporters that he wants to “take a little bit of your soul” and “take the love of football away from other people” when he’s on the field.

Alabama guard Tyler Booker is going viral for awesome quote at NFL Combine
That aggressiveness turned Booker into one of the best guards in the SEC during his two seasons as a starter for Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer. As the level of physicality ramps up from the highest level of college football to the league, he’ll need to maintain that mindset in the trenches.
Listed at 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, Booker will be one of the bigger offensive linemen in the 2025 draft, and he has one of the best resumes. Booker played over 775 snaps in each of the last two seasons and only allowed two total sacks (both in 2023), and 15 total quarterback pressures. Plus, he has the size and strength to clear lanes in the run game and collect pieces of souls in the process.

It’s hard not to fall in love with Booker’s tape, but if front offices were still on the fence this quote could make them change their mind. It can feel trivial but with fewer and fewer players working out at the Scouting Combine, teams are prioritizing face-to-face interviews and crucial information about the make-up and mindset of draft prospects.
Even if Booker doesn't rise up draft boards, he's certainly added a few fans who weren't familiar with his game at Alabama.
