If there was any lingering doubt about Jam Miller's availability for this weekend's showdown against Georgia in Athens, that was put to bed with the release of Alabama's initial availability report for the game.
The SEC mandates availability reports to begin three days before games, and to recur daily up until 90 minutes before kickoff. On Alabama's initial availability report released on Wednesday, star senior RB Jam Miller was not listed with an injury designation, meaning he's good to go.
Miller missed the first three games of the season after dislocating his shoulder in the final preseason scrimmage. Kalen DeBoer stated earlier in the week that he expected Miller to play on Saturday, but Wednesday's report confirms his status.
Miller will provide a big boost for an Alabama rushing attack that has struggled early in the season. Alabama did not eclipse 100 yards on the ground against either Power Four opponent. Redshirt freshman Kevin Riley has filled in admirably without Miller, but there's no substitute for experience, and Miller has a ton of it.
The senior was the talk of fall camp, with both DeBoer and OC Ryan Grubb singing his praises. He'll provide help running the ball, but also blocking, and catching passes out of the backfield. You can bet Georgia will be watching him on the wheel route - he's scored touchdowns on wheel routes against the Bulldogs in the last two meetings between the programs.
Tim Keenan is probable and other injury report notes
Kane Wommack said earlier in the week that Tim Keenan would be able to play against Georgia. He's certainly trending in that direction. He was officially designated as "probable" on Wednesday.
Also probable is redshirt junior tight end Danny Lewis Jr., who has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since spring practice. Freshmen Kaleb Edwards and Marshall Pritchett have gotten a lot of snaps as a result, but Lewis's experience will be key on Saturday night.
The only other two players listed on the availability report are DL Jeremiah Beaman, who tore his ACL in practice before the UL Monroe game and will be out for the season, and sixth-year senior LB Jah-Marien Latham, who suffered a scary neck injury in practice on Tuesday and is currently in the hospital in Birmingham, undergoing evaluations. He has feeling and can move, but DeBoer stated on "Hey Coach" on Wednesday night that he'll be out for a while.
LT Overton went down with a minor injury in Alabama's 38-14 win over Wisconsin, which cost him most of the second half of that game. He has clearly recovered well enough to not carry an injury designation heading into Week 5.
Georgia lists three players as "out" - TE Ethan Barbour, OL Malachi Toliver, and WR Thomas Blackshear - and one player as "doubtful" in OL Earnest Greene III.
