There are moments in Alabama football history that you just can't ever forget. For older Alabama fans, maybe it's the goal-line stand in the 1979 Sugar Bowl against Penn State. Or maybe Antonio Langham's pick-six to beat Florida in the 1992 SEC Championship.

In the Saban era, maybe it's 2nd-and-26 or 4th-and-31. Saturday night in Athens brought the latest unforgettable moment in Alabama history. There's not a special name for it yet, but it'll undoubtedly come. For now, Kadyn Proctor's unexpected catch-and-run late in the second quarter was a lot of mass hauling a lot of ass.

Proctor lined up outside at wide(est) receiver, took a screen pass from Ty Simpson, and with lead blockers Germie Bernard and Jam Miller, rambled toward the endzone, stepping out of bounds just a couple yards short of glory. One play later, Simpson ran in a touchdown to push Alabama's lead to 24-14 at halftime.

Proctor said after the game that the only thing running through his mind was the endzone.

"Gotta finish with the touchdown," Proctor said. "I'm trying to go through people man. That's the biggest thing for me. Power. Power ball. You seen it. I got in, clutched the ball, so all I had to do was run through people. I already knew what I was going to do."

Ryan Grubb's creative play calling helped Alabama score a key TD before the half

The play by Proctor - and the touchdown drive in and of itself before the half - becomes even more vital when you realize that Alabama didn't score a point in the second half and yet still walked out of Athens with a massive victory.

Georgia yanked away some momentum with an 11-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to cut Alabama's lead to 17-14 with just over two minutes to go in the second quarter. Even with the Tide getting the ball to start the third quarter, Ryan Grubb wasn't going to be conservative.

Facing a third-and-1 early in the drive with the threat of punting back to Georgia, Grubb dialed up the first bit of trickery on the drive. A handoff to Germie Bernard that turned into a quick pass to Isaiah Horton to move the chains.

Simpson followed that up with big plays to Ryan Williams and then Lotzeir Brooks to put Alabama in scoring position. Proctor did most of what was left with an iconic catch-and-run to get the Tide near the goal line.

Creativity in play-calling allowed Alabama to hit some plays that proved to be vital to the win.
