While Alabama waits to hear what Isaiah Horton plans to do with the rest of his remaining eligibility or whatever Cam Coleman ends up doing in the Transfer Portal after he visits Tuscaloosa this weekend, the Crimson Tide has already extended an offer to standout FCS WR Tony Diaz.

Diaz is a sneaky prospect, being listed at 5-foot-11, 176 pounds, that many might not know much about after playing his true freshman season at Texas Rio Grande Valley. This changed in 2025, where Diaz became a man amongst boys at the FCS level, reeling in 68 receptions for 875 yards and 11 touchdowns for UTRGV. His best games came against the Vipers' top competition, snagging seven receptions for 134 yards against McNesse for three touchdowns.

That production put Diaz on the radar while earning his way to first team all Southland conference honors. This was undeniable after seeing Diaz enter the transfer portal and receive offers from Power 4 programs like Iowa, Kentucky, Arkansas, VT, OSU, Baylor, Illinois, Houston, Cincinnati, and now Alabama. Diaz confirmed his offer from Alabama on Thursday, having an official visit set for Saturday-Sunday.

Tony Diaz is an under-the-radar prospect who could pop for Alabama

This visit has the potential to be key after losing four receivers to the transfer portal and seeing top WR Germie Bernard take his talents to the NFL after 2 great seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Of course, as I said, the Crimson Tide still has bigger fish to fry with Horton's and Coleman's pending decisions hanging in the balance, but Diaz's potential addition has the opportunity to provide Alabama with an extra set of hands to join Ryan Williams, Lotzeir Brooks, Rico Scott, and Derek Meadows. At worst, this pickup would still give Alabama's new projected starting QB, likely to be Keelon Russell or Austin Mack, another body to target as the two battle for the starting gig this offseason.

Diaz isn't the big name Alabama fans are hoping to see land in Tuscaloosa, but he's still an impressive prospect who produced at a high-level in the FCS ranks. And the tape doesn't lie:
