Kalen DeBoer can't afford to miss on 5-star WR Monshun Sales
Sales is not the type of prospect that Kalen DeBoer can afford to miss out on.
His recruiting profile lists him from Indianapolis, which would seemingly give the defending national champion Hoosiers a leg up in his recruitment, but Sales is originally from Alabama and is a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide.
Sales was recently given 5-star+ status from On3 and is one of the most sought-after players in the country. He's a 6-foot-5 WR with elite speed and separation ability. He's the exact type of receiver that DeBoer has coveted for his offensive system.
This has long been considered a three-horse race. Alabama is the childhood favorite. Indiana is the new home and the new kid on the block that has taken college football by storm. Then there's Ohio State, which has produced and developed wide receivers at a rate that no other program can match.
Miami is the wildcard, but they have significant resources and will be tough to beat from an NIL perspective.
But no matter what DeBoer and the Alabama staff face on the recruiting trail, Sales has to end up in Tuscaloosa.
His nickname is "Bama" for goodness sakes.
It's far from a foregone conclusion, and the competition will be severe, but Alabama had a significant head start in this recruitment and must close the deal.
