Caleb Cunningham flips to Ole Miss: where does Alabama turn at WR in 2025 class?
As expected following his weekend visit to Ole Miss, five-star WR Caleb Cunningham flipped his verbal commitment from Alabama to his home state Rebels.
Cunningham committed to Alabama back on July 13th, but has continued to take visits to other schools. The smoke with Cunningham and Ole Miss has been palpable, and Crystal Ball predictions for Cunningham to flip to the Rebels flew in over the weekend following Ole Miss' upset of Georgia with Cunningham in attendance.
I would caution that Cunningham's recruitment is far from over. He's still at this moment expected to be in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl. Alabama still has time to reel him back into this class, though it will be an uphill battle following his flip.
Where does Alabama turn next at WR in 2025?
WR was a pretty low priority for the Crimson Tide's 2025 class. With talented freshmen like Ryan Williams and Caleb Odom, as well as other underclassmen like Jalen Hale, Cole Adams, and Jaren Hamilton, Alabama has plenty of young talent at the position as things stand now. Guys like Germie Bernard and Kendrick Law could be back next season, too.
Alabama has one commitment in the 2025 class at WR currently in four-star Lotzeir Brooks from Millville, New Jersey. Brooks is one of the most underrated players in this class and is extremely explosive.
Alabama hasn't been aggressively pursuing other WRs in this class as they felt comfortable with the two guys they had committed. One guy they have stayed in contact with and will be visiting Tuscaloosa soon is Florida four-star commit Naeshaun Montgomery out of Miami.
Montgomery will be on an official visit to Alabama this weekend, which marks his third trip to campus. It will be his first for a game day, though.
If Alabama can get Montgomery to flip, they'll happily take him in this class. If Montgomery sticks with Florida, Kalen DeBoer and company may be out of options in this class. They signed five WRs last year, and they could fill a need in the transfer portal if it comes to it.
