As the Alabama Crimson Tide marched into the Auburn Tigers' home and secured yet another Iron Bowl victory over their rivals, the home crowd hit a low that was so embarrassing, even the Alabama fans in attendance were surprised.
When Alabama running back Jam Miller went down with an injury, the team's medical staff came onto the field to evaluate him. Then, the Auburn crowd broke out into a chant that was downright deplorable, at best.
"F--- you Bama," the crowd chanted as Miller was being evaluated.
Rivalries should never trump a player's health
It's understandable to voice that sentiment throughout a game, especially a rivalry game as hate-filled as the Iron Bowl is. However, to do it while a young athlete is on the ground in pain isn't acceptable, and Auburn fans should be embarrassed.
Even if the crowd had started the chant before Miller went down, there should have been some level of recognition once they saw him on the ground, and the chant should have been called off.

Before leaving the game with his injury, Miller amassed 83 yards on 15 carries and 12 yards on two receptions. While he never found the end zone, he did lead the team in rushing yards and undeniably left his impact before exiting.
Following the game, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer shared that Miller had suffered "a lower leg injury" and that the team would "probably have more information on Monday."
DeBoer has yet to provide any further information on Miller's status, and the Crimson Tide is waiting on pins and needles as they wait to hear if he will play in the team's next matchup: the SEC Championship.
Alabama and Georgia are set to kick off from Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 6, to determine who will walk away from the regular season with the conference title. While the Georgia Bulldogs have cemented their place in the College Football Playoff, the Tide might have to bank on the win to earn a berth.
