ESPN commentator seems convinced Alabama is about to lose Kalen DeBoer soon

One ESPN talking head thinks that Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will part ways with the Crimson Tide sooner rather than later.

Well, despite Kalen DeBoer repeatedly shutting down speculation that he was leaving Alabama for the job opening with the Michigan Wolverines, nobody seems to be able to stop talking about him as the frontrunner.

Earlier this week, ESPN talking head Michael Wilson refused to back down on the topic, adamantly saying that he believes DeBoer is leaving Tuscaloosa for Ann Arbor any day.

"The coach at Alabama is going to have a job-on-the-line situation in 24 hours, and then headed to Michigan once he loses," Wilson said. "And then Alabama's looking. Then what are you going to say?"

Michael Wilson "knows" Kalen DeBoer is heading to Michigan

On every possible occasion, DeBoer has repeated his message that he hasn't even had conversations with people in the Wolverines' athletic department and that he certainly hasn't had any conversations about jobs other than his current one with the Tide.

Continuously calling the rumor mill a "distraction" from the task at hand (Alabama's first-round College Football Playoff game against Oklahoma), the Crimson Tide's head coach has seemingly done everything he can to squash speculation about him leaving.

Yet, Wilson and many other commentators still believe that he will leave Alabama for Michigan.

One of the biggest talking points? He can't crack it at Alabama. Last year, he missed the playoffs entirely and actually lost the team's bowl game to none other than Michigan. This year, he's at risk of losing to the Oklahoma Sooners (for a second time in one season) in the first round.

Not to mention, when he left the Washington Huskies for the Crimson Tide just two years ago, what was he referring to the rumors about him leaving UW as? A distraction.

Tonight, No. 9 Alabama and No. 8 kick off the College Football Playoff with their first-round matchup at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN, and fans can tune in to see if DeBoer can finally win a postseason game with the Tide.
