With spring football officially over, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer can officially begin solely focusing on recruiting and finding some big wins for the Class of 2027. Sadly, that started with DeBoer losing a commit from the class, one that is now considering enemy territory.
Over a week ago, longtime Alabama commit Nash Johnson III decommitted from the Crimson Tide after a strong push from rival Auburn for his flip. Johnson was at Auburn for their spring game this past weekend, and now he is admitting the Tigers are the new team at the top of his list.

Johnson was a three-star cornerback commit for Alabama, and while he wasn't the highest-rated recruit for the Tide, he was one of a few players for the Tide in his class. It was a tough loss for Johnson to decommit, but now to see that he is really considering Auburn, Alabama's biggest rival, it hurts even more.
Kalen DeBoer has a lot of work to do for Alabama Class of 2027
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer currently has just four commits in the Class of 2027, including three three-star recruits and one four-star recruit. This is a far cry from the type of recruits legendary head coach Nick Saban would bring in for his recruiting classes that were typically filled with four-star adn five-star recruits.
DeBoer will have a lot of ground to make up in the upcoming recruiting cycle over the summer. With the official visit season beginning very soon, DeBoer needs to get on the lists of the top recruits to get Alabama to make on the map.
According to 247Sports, Alabama has just the No. 48 recruiting class in the country, something the Tide and its fans are not used to. There are some big recruits eyeing the Tide over the summer, and DeBoer has to win them over.
