Kalen DeBoer and Alabama are big-game hunting once again in the 2027 recruiting class for wide receivers.

Their top target is and has always been 5-star Monshun Sales, who is an Alabama native playing high school ball in Indianapolis. But Alabama wants to take multiple receivers in this class, and a new target has emerged.

4-star WR Khalil Taylor out of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, who was once committed to Penn State before decommitting after the Nittany Lions let go of James Franklin, received an offer from Alabama on Monday and then immediately set up an official visit with the Crimson Tide for this summer.

It's safe to say Taylor was pretty excited about the offer if he quickly made visit plans. He'll be in Tuscaloosa from June 19th through the 21st, he shared on his X account on Tuesday:

Kalen DeBoer has a track record of producing quality receivers, and his offense will always allow for wideouts to thrive.

Alabama has one of the most talented receiver rooms in the country for 2026, featuring star power in Ryan Coleman-Williams and Lotzeir Brooks, along with rising youngsters in Derek Meadows and Cederian Morgan.

Taylor could be next in line.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder has track speed and would perfectly complement Sales, assuming the Crimson Tide can land the coveted 5-star out of Indiana. Sales is the big receiver at 6-foot-5 who can do it all, while Taylor would work as the smaller, speedier guy.

Taylor is a consensus 4-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 70 overall player - and No. 13 WR - in the 2027 class, per the 247 composite.

Taylor has six other visits lined up, according to his 247 profile, though Syracuse is listed for June 19th currently, so it's safe to say that one isn't going to happen anymore. The other visits are as follows, in order:

  • Indiana - April 17th
  • Colorado - May 15th
  • Georgia - May 29th
  • Penn State - June 5th
  • Nebraska - June 12th
  • Alabama - June 19th

Alabama locking in the coveted final visit could be great news. DeBoer and his staff have proven repeatedly that they know how to close the deal when they get a prospect on campus.
