Kalen DeBoer and Alabama have a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail. Some fans might be concerned with the Crimson Tide holding just five commitments for the 2026 class as we head toward June, but they are in a similar position to where they were a year ago.
Heading into last summer, Alabama had just four players committed. Then came a massive run during the summer where the Crimson Tide locked up what ultimately became a Top 5 class. Insiders believe Alabama is gearing up for a similar run.
One of the big reasons for that expectation is how well DeBoer and the staff are doing with the top players in the state for this cycle. It was noted recently that the Crimson Tide led for the top three players in the state of Alabama for 2026. They just picked up another prediction to land one of those players.
5-star RB Ezavier Crowell has long been considered an Alabama lean, particularly after he chose to reclassify into the 2026 class. Rivals recruiting director Adam Gorney recently made a prediction for the Crimson Tide to land the elite RB prospect:
Crowell recently announced he would make his commitment on June 26th, moving it up from a previously scheduled commitment date of December 31st. Crowell still has a full slate of official visits to go. Along with Alabama, he'll be seeing Auburn, Georgia, Texas, and Florida State.
In-state trio all scheduled to visit Alabama on the same weekend
It's no coincidence that Alabama has scheduled the official visits for the top three players in the state - Tank Jones, Cederian Morgan, and Ezavier Crowell - the same weekend. All three are scheduled to be in Tuscaloosa for official visits the weekend of June 20th.
That's the biggest recruiting weekend of the summer for the Crimson Tide.
Crowell is scheduled to commit six days later. A week after that on July 2nd, Morgan will make his commitment. Jones doesn't yet have a commitment date on the books, but Alabama is currently slated to get his pivotal final official visit on the 20th.
It's going to be a big summer for Alabama. It won't be much longer before it's forgotten that this class has gotten off to a "slow" start. DeBoer and company continue to prove they can recruit in the south, and the recruiting run Alabama is about to go on will resonate everywhere.
