Alabama is starting to gain some much-needed momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2027 class.
The Crimson Tide's final official visit weekend of the summer was fruitful, and good news should be pouring in over the next week or two.
The first bit of good news happened on Sunday.
3-star CB Darrius White, who picked up predictions from BamaOnline's Tim Watts and Andrew Bone to ultimately commit to Alabama, wasted little time. White originally had a commitment date set for July 4th, but went ahead and pulled the trigger now:

Alabama lands a commitment 3-star CB Darrius White
White is a consensus 3-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 451 overall player in the composite, but don't let his recruiting ranking fool you. He's a really good player and was a high priority for Alabama DB coach Maurice Linguist, who has certainly earned the benefit of the doubt in his evaluations since taking the Tide job.
He was also a high priority for Tennessee and Georgia, among others, and took visits to both during the recruitment process before deciding he wanted to be at the Capstone.
White fits the mold of the corners that Linguist has prioritized during his two years as the Tide's DB coach. He loves length and speed, and White has plenty of both at 6-foot-3.
The Faiburn, Georgia, native becomes Alabama's ninth commitment of the 2027 class and could kick off a big run to close out the summer.
Alabama fans have been a bit frustrated by the slow movement and lack of star power in this class, but it's been calculated decisions by DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan, who don't want to break the bank for players who aren't going to be able to contribute as freshmen and may enter the portal due to all the young talent ahead of them on the Alabama depth chart.
Alabama only has nine seniors on the roster and is prioritizing roster retention and the portal in this cycle over the high school class, regardless of how fans feel about it.
White was one of the top players on Alabama's board, however, and he's not a long-term project type of defensive back, either. He's a player the staff believes could come in and contribute as a freshman, with long-term upside to become one of the top corners in college football.
No program has recruited defensive backs at the level of Alabama in the last couple of cycles, with Linguist doing excellent work with the elite prospects as well as finding some under-the-radar gems.
White is under-the-radar right now, but he's a player who will likely see his stock rise during his senior season.
