Never count the Crimson Tide out.
Whether it's the College Football Playoff, the SEC Championship, or the recruiting trail, Alabama is always in the mix and, most recently, that has applied to the recruitment of five-star interior offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller.
Hiller, who is the No. 1 IOL in the class of 2027 and the No. 4 overall prospect, announced his final spring visits for this year, and with only three teams on the list, the Alabama Crimson Tide made the cut.
With one last trip to Tuscaloosa, 'Bama head coach Kalen DeBoer has to put all of his cards on the table to try to land Hiller over the likes of the Florida Gators and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Maxwell Hiller announces visits to Alabama and 2 other teams
- Florida Gators - March 26
- Ohio State Buckeyes - April 1
- Alabama Crimson Tide - April 10
DeBoer gets the favorability of Hiller's trip to Tuscaloosa being the final one of the cycle, giving the Tide the benefit of recency bias. Not to mention, he's already made three trips to Alabama, only visiting Florida and Ohio State twice before.
According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, "family ties, coaching stability, and freshman development" are playing into Hiller's decision.

Well, who has better freshman development than the Tide, the team with the most athletes in the NFL out of anyone in the country? Who has better coaching stability than Alabama, the team that can tout the GOAT as their former head coach and one of the winningest active coaches as their current one?
According to On3, the Crimson Tide has a 54 percent chance to land Hiller's commitment, followed by the Gators with 31.8 percent odds. This final round of visits could be DeBoer's last and best chance to secure the five-star lineman as a future 'Bama star.
