Alabama's 2026 recruiting class is mostly complete, but Kalen DeBoer and his staff are still looking to fill out a few spots. The Tide recently landed a commitment from fast-rising 3-star OL Jared Doughty, and their next commitment might come at the expense of Jonathan Smith and Michigan State.
4-star WR Samson Gash, the No. 366 overall player in the 2026 class, will take an upcoming visit to Tuscaloosa for Alabama's game against LSU on November 8th.

Alabama got in on Gash late, extending him an offer in June. He had already made up his mind by then, however, and committed to the home school in Michigan State. But with the Spartans at 3-3 and having lost three consecutive games - including an embarrassing blowout loss at home to hapless UCLA on Saturday - there are a lot of questions about Jonathan Smith's future in East Lansing.
What Samson Gash would mean for Alabama's WR room
Gash is a good player, as evidenced by his recruiting ranking. But Alabama already has three commitments at the position in this class, meaning Gash is certainly more of a luxury take if he chooses to pull the trigger and flip to Alabama.
Alabama holds commitments from 5-star Cederian Morgan and then 3-stars Brian Williams Jr. and Owen Cabell. Cabell earned an offer over the summer after he impressed WR coach JaMarcus Shephard during a camp in Tuscaloosa.
The future of the WR position for Alabama is supremely bright, with or without Gash. DeBoer is comfortable with the three-man class they have as is, and Alabama should return talented receivers like Ryan Williams, Lotzeir Brooks, Derek Meadows, Rico Scott, and Jaylen Mbakwe next season. The future for guys like Isaiah Horton, Cole Adams, and Jalen Hale is more up in the air.
Horton has been a terrific addition in the Transfer Portal, and if his stellar play continues, he may test the NFL Draft waters. Adams and Hale may need to seek out options elsewhere, as they have been passed up by younger players already.
It's no surprise that top wide receivers from across the country would be interested in playing at Alabama right now. Along with the program's NFL track record, DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Shephard have a track record of their own. Plus, this is a wide-open offense that gets the ball in the hands of its playmakers all the time.
Alabama's 2026 class has 22 commitments and is currently ranked No. 3 in the composite.
