Nate Oats has consistently recruited at a high level at Alabama despite concerns from many fans over the Crimson Tide's NIL war chest for the basketball program. That hasn't stopped Oats from landing elite prospects year-over-year.

The 2027 cycle is unlikely to be any different.

Alabama currently doesn't have any committed prospects for the 2027 class after seeing Anderson Diaz reclassify into the 2026 cycle and join the Crimson Tide for this upcoming season. But Oats and assistant Preston Murphy are hard at work setting up a loaded official visitor schedule for this fall.

They just added another elite prospect to it on Tuesday.

4-star PF Zion Green, the No. 27 overall player in the 247 composite, has scheduled an official visit with Alabama for September 25th. He'll also visit Oklahoma, Kansas, and Ole Miss, according to 247's Dushawn London:

Alabama lands official visit with 4-star PF Zion Green

Green is a 6-foot-9, 190-pound PF originally from Philadelphia, but he plays high school ball in Arizona at Chandler Prep. He's got the tools to be the stretch four that Oats always covets, potentially developing into another Noah Clowney-type big for the Crimson Tide.

He needs to add some bulk to make that happen, but it's easy to see why Oats would be so interested. Green recently shot 41% from three and 78% from the free-throw line in Pro16 play.

Alabama's fall official visitor schedule is absolutely loaded. Adding Green to the mix, here's what Oats and company have on tap over the next month and some change:

9/19: 4-star SG Chase Lumpkin and 4-star PG Devin Cleveland

9/25: 4-star PF Zion Green and 4-star SG RJ Moore

10/10: 5-star SF Malachi Jordan and 4-star PG TJ Jamison Jr.

Jamison's visit may not happen. He committed to Baylor, but as of right now, the visit is still listed on 247, so we're including it.

There will be other prospects added in the coming weeks, but that's a pretty loaded visitor schedule at this point. Alabama had 11 official visitors last fall, so you can expect a few more additions before it's all said and done.

The big 2027 push is upon us for basketball recruiting. The early signing period will run from November 11th through November 18th, and then the late signing period will take place in April. The majority of the top prospects will sign during the early period, even if their commitment announcements come after that.

Oats always has a surprise or two up his sleeve as well so the next couple of months will be interesting to watch unfold.
