The football offices in Tuscaloosa are still probably energized after the Alabama football team landed its second commitment for the 2026 class on Thursday. In case you missed it, offensive lineman Chris Booker announced his pledge to the Tide.
At the time, Booker, an Atlanta, Ga., product, was unranked on 247Sports. Well, things have changed there in the best way possible. That's right, 247Sports has since updated his page, with Booker being ranked the No. 20 interior offensive lineman in the country. Not only that, but he's now ranked four stars and the No. 357 player nationally for his class per the composite.

New Alabama commit Chris Booker is ranked 4-stars by the 247Sports Composite
Throughout his recruitment, Booker picked up offers from Alabama, USF, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Western Kentucky and others. Checking in at 6-4, 285 pounds, he already has solid size for an interior lineman, but he's only going to get bigger and stronger once he gets to college.
He's an early pledge for Alabama, as he won't be able to sign with the team until December at the earliest and he won't be making his way to campus until 2026. However, he's already thrilled about his future playing for DeBoer and understandably so.
4-star EDGE Jamarion Matthews has also committed to Alabama football
The Booker addition to the '26 haul isn't the only big news of the week, as DeBoer and his coaches received yet another positive update in the form of a 4-star EDGE. Jamarion Matthews, a 6-2, 240-pounder from Georgia, just announced his verbal to the Tide.
Matthews is a big-time get for DeBoer, as he's ranked four stars and the No. 17 EDGE in the country per the 247Sports Composite. He committed to the Tide over additional offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, LSU and many others. Alabama is now up to three commits for '26, with Booker and Matthews joining 4-star CB Zyan Gibson.
