Alabama picked up a much-needed commitment on Sunday when 3-star CB Darrius White announced his pledge to the Crimson Tide. White, a long-time Alabama lean, was originally slated to make his college choice public on July 4th, but pulled the trigger over the weekend instead.
It didn't take White long after his commitment to don his recruiting hat and make a pitch for another top defensive target to join him in Tuscaloosa.
Following his announcement, 4-star EDGE Antwan Jackson quote-tweeted one of the posts on social media with a few emojis. White replied to that tweet with a "cmon fam stop playing," urging Jackson to commit to Alabama after a long flirtation:

Darrius White makes a pitch for 4-star EDGE Antwan Jackson to join him at Alabama
Alabama has been seen as the leader for 4-star EDGE Antwan Jackson throughout his recruitment. He's been the Crimson Tide's top target at the position, but the Collierville, Tennessee native continued to take visits after making the trip to Tuscaloosa at the end of May. Since then, both Ole Miss and Missouri have made up significant ground. Jackson recently announced that those three are his finalists, and they are all neck-and-neck.
Jackson is expected to make an announcement soon, though no official date has been given. While Alabama has been viewed as the leader for a while, they are in a lot more of a fight than they originally anticipated for the blue-chip prospect. Kalen DeBoer will welcome any help he can get in this recruitment.
White is certainly giving that to him.
White and Jackson both took their official visits to Alabama over the same weekend. While White continued to take visits, including trips to Tennessee and Georgia, he never really wavered on Alabama being his leader, and there was little anxiety surrounding his recruitment as a result.
That's been different for Jackson, who looked to be on the verge of committing to the Crimson Tide after his official visit. Instead, Jackson took the rest of his visits and has forced Alabama to fight down the stretch to try to maintain any semblance of a lead over SEC foes Ole Miss and Missouri.
Jackson would be a significant addition to Alabama's class. White was, too, despite his 3-star ranking.
DeBoer and his staff have picked up some recent momentum on the recruiting trail. There should be plenty of good news coming this week for the Crimson Tide. Perhaps Jackson can add to it.
