As conference tournaments continue while everyone's focus is on winning their conference there's also serious jockeying for seeding in the NCAA Tournament that is underway. The Alabama Basketball team has no worry about being on the bubble as they'll be an at-large selection however, they are in a battle for better seeding.

Before the start of conference tournaments, the Alabama Basketball team was projected to enter the tournament as a four-seed. The Tide have been given a great opportunity to jump into a three-seed thanks to Duke losing to NC State and Creighton losing to Providence in their opening games of conference championship week.

The Alabama Basketball team will have an opportunity for a quad-one win against the Florida Gators on Friday night in the SEC Tournament. The win itself may be enough for the Alabama Basketball team to jump into a three-seed in the tournament which lead to an easier path to a final four.

If the Alabama Basketball team beats Florida it'll have another chance to improve its resume facing the winner of Kentucky and Texas A&M. Two wins would certainly help the Alabama Football team's resume cementing itself as a three-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Alabama Basketball team has a slim chance of leaping its way into a two-seed. The Alabama Basketball team would need to win at least two SEC Tournament games with one win over Kentucky while a third win over Tennessee may be the only way Alabama grabs a two-seed.

Time to play defense is now for Alabama Basketball

All season Nate Oats has urged his team to step up defensively as the group has struggled to stop opponents all season. The Alabama Basketball team has skated by on offensive merit and talent for a majority of the year however, defense now is much needed. The Alabama offense when hot is nearly unstoppable however, the team needs the ability to get stops when needed. The Tide have lost great offensive games due to defensive lapses against Tennessee, Kentucky, and several top teams in the country. If the group is unable to step up defensively then this Alabama basketball team will be on upset watch early in the tournament.
