The focus for the Alabama Basketball team is on winning a National Championship. After advancing to the first final four in program history, the program added something of massive value Saturday night. Now, when recruiting players to Alabama Nate Oats can add that he's taken a team to the Final Four.

Until this season Oats had nearly every piece he needed in a recruiting pitch. He's gotten four players picked in the first round of the draft and two players taken in the second round. He's won the SEC regular season and tournament championship twice, and his team plays in maybe the toughest conference in the country. The only thing opposing schools could use as a detractor towards Oats was his lack of tournament success having failed to make it past the Sweet Sixteen in all four seasons of Alabama.

Oats out-performing expectations with this team in 2024 gives him the perfect pitch to upcoming recruits. Recruiting hasn't been a problem for Oats at Alabama, currently holding the 7th-ranked class in the country with top 25 classes in every season at Alabama.

For five-star recruits, Alabama should be the place to go. All three five-star recruits Oats has brought in have gone one and done to the NBA. The reason why Oats' players have been able to make the jump is the NBA style the team plays. Since 2020 the Alabama Basketball team has finished in the top 20 offensively, three times while finishing 30th in 2021. Players in the Oats system can reach their peak potential in an offense making them viable candidates for the NBA.

Now pairing the success of the 2024 team with Oats style of play, the Alabama Basketball team may hit a new level on the recruiting trail. The Tide may start competing for the high-caliber classes we're used to seeing in football. The Tide now has a proven winner in Nate Oats. He's signed a massive contract that tells the nation he's here to stay.

Mountain to climb in Phoenix

Nate Oats has a massive hill to climb in Phoenix in the defending Champion UConn Huskies. The Huskies have been dominant in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments looking nearly unbeatable. The Alabama Basketball team will have nearly a week to prepare before trying to slay Goliath. If Nate Oats and the Alabama Basketball team pull off the upset the program will reach an almost unbelievable height in competing for a National Championship.
