Alabama Football made its first splash in the transfer portal today landing Texas A&M edge rusher LT Overton. Overton was a former five-star who committed to play for Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M before entering the transfer portal. Overton recorded 48 tackles in two seasons at Texas A&M and a sack.
The addition of Overton is massive for the Alabama Football team in terms of replacing the production of Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell. The Alabama Football team returns minimal snaps at edge rusher so bringing in Overton's 1000+ snaps at edge rusher is valuable experience for the Alabama Football team in 2024.
Overton visited Tuscaloosa this past weekend along with Texas A&M teammate Edge rusher Fadil Diggs. Diggs would be an excellent addition as well as Overton as the duo would bring much-needed experience to a young edge rush room for 2024. Overton will most likely start the season as the top edge rusher for the Alabama Football team while there will be a camp battle for the next spot in the rotation.
Alabama Football: Big Game Hunting in transfer portal
The Alabama Football team will be hunting for some big-name players in the transfer portal as they look to add experienced players at edge rusher and cornerback for the 2024 season. The next target for the Alabama Football team should be USC transfer cornerback Domani Jackson. Alabama Football finished runner-up to the Trojans in the initial recruitment for Jackson but, should be a favorite now with openings at cornerback with the expected departures of Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold. Alabama Football is also looking for transfers at other positions including wide receiver. The Alabama Football team will return a ton of depth at the position but, will likely look to add a bigger possession receiver as they will likely lose Jermaine Burton who's filled that role nicely in 2023.
