The Alabama Football program landed the commitment of 2024 edge rusher Jayshawn Ross a four-star out of Kansas City, Missouri. Ross is the 235th-ranked player in the country and the 18th-ranked edge rusher according to 24/7 Sports. Jayshawn chose Alabama over Kansas State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. The commitment vaults Alabama's recruiting class to third in the country jumping Florida State as we approach early signing day.

Ross will have every opportunity to start from day one as the Crimson Tide will lose edge rushers Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell to the NFL Draft following this season. The Alabama Football team is looking to revamp its edge room as they host transfers in Fadil Diggs and LT Overton while hopefully signing edge rushers like Jayshawn Ross, Sterling Dixon, and potentially flipping Eddrick Houston from Ohio State.

The next focus for the Alabama Football program is flipping Miami commit running back Kevin Riley. The Alabama Football team has been pushing hard to flip the Tuscaloosa Native ahead of signing day as they currently don't have a running back in the signing class. Riley is the 76th-ranked player in the country, the fourth-ranked running back, and the eighth-ranked player from the state of Alabama.

Alabama Football: Can Alabama get to the number one class?

With current commitments, the Alabama Football team has the third-ranked class overall behind Georgia and Ohio State. It's very possible the Alabama Football team can jump both programs by the time this recruiting cycle is over. Georgia lost five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola to Nebraska a massive hit to Georgia's recruiting class. George is trying to keep recruits in place after former assistant Fran Brown left for Syracuse players from across the country have been flocking to Syracuse to play for coach Brown. Ohio State is trying to fend off programs across the country as Alabama attempts to flip Eddrick Houston, they lost running back Jordan Lyle to Miami, and continue to struggle in recruiting battles lately. Should Ohio State continue to struggle and Georgia lose a few recruits to schools like Syracuse Alabama may land the top recruiting class yet again.
