Kalen DeBoer continues to build a strong recruiting staff for his Alabama Football program with his latest hire Jatavis Sanders from North Carolina State. Sanders played for the Wolfpack before becoming a vital piece of their program behind the scenes in recruiting. Sanders will serve as the Director of Recruiting Strategy for Kalen DeBoer as he did at NC State.
One of the areas Sanders has had the most success is in the transfer portal where he brought in eleven players for NC State with Grayson McCall, Justin Joly, Jordan Waters, and Noah Rogers ranked among some of the top transfer players in the country. Having a recruiter and scout who's well-based in the transfer portal becomes increasingly important this spring. When the Spring transfer portal window opens the Alabama Football team may be one of the Nation's most aggressive and attractive teams with unexpected roster spots available.
Jatavis Sanders will be an important piece in traditional recruiting as well with strong ties in the state of Georgia. Sanders has brought NC State four-star Jacarrius Peak and several other key players from Georgia. His ties in North Carolina will also help the Alabama Football team in the 2025 recruiting class with the team heavily pursuing David Sanders Jr, the top offensive tackle in the class and the second-ranked player overall according to 24/7 Sports.
The recruiting staff is being built out in a way we never saw under Nick Saban's regime. Kalen DeBoer now has two of the nation's highest-regarded talent evaluators and program builders in Courtney Morgan and Jatavis Sanders. Having a great recruiting staff is a massive help for Kalen DeBoer as it allows for him to focus on what he does best coaching while his staff brings in the talent for him to succeed.
Alabama Football: Heavy recruiting push and scouting the transfers
At this point of the off-season, Kalen DeBoer and his staff have made it clear that they're making a massive push on the recruiting trail. Having already landed Ryan Williams and Noah Carter, DeBoer has made a strong push to keep 2024 signees who may be on the fence including Rico Scott who came away from the visit "Very Excited" about the offense. Kalen DeBoer and his staff have been traveling all over the country re-offering recruits and building relationships with many of the nation's top high school programs. The staff will also have an eye on the transfer portal with the spring transfer window opening soon. The Crimson Tide will have a few unexpected roster spots available meaning they can bring in some key pieces at a few of the holes in the roster.
