As national signing day rolls on, Alabama Football has landed a commitment from 2024 4-star defensive lineman Steve Mboumoua

Mboumoua, a Canadian product who hails from Quebec City, grew up in Cameroon according to 247Sports.

A raw athlete at 6’4” and 260 pounds, Steve Mboumoua will benefit greatly from the coaching he will receive at the University of Alabama. He has a lot of room to grow, but is very intriguing as a prospect.

Mboumoua is a solid addition for Alabama Football on the defensive line. Bama already has a signature from 3-star Phenix City product Isaia Faga, and is expecting one from 4-star Birmingham defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.

The Crimson Tide also added Texas A&M transfer LT Overton yesterday, and hopes to flip 5-star Ohio State commit Eddrick Houston. Should all of this come to fruition as anticipated, it would collectively be a very impressive defensive line haul for Coach Nick Saban and company.

Alabama’s defensive front, which has been much improved this season, will likely lose seniors Justin Eboigbe and Tim Smith, which could open up early opportunities for playing time for Mboumoua and the other 2024 additions.

The Tide also parted ways with depth pieces in Isaiah Hastings and Anquin Barnes Jr., who hit the transfer portal following the conclusion of the regular season.

Still, it will return standout juniors Tim Keenan III and Jaheim Oatis, as well as experienced players like Jah-Marien Latham, Damon Payne, and Monkell Goodwine. Rising sophomore James Smith showed promising flashes as a true freshman and will be back in the fold.

The 2024 defensive line for Alabama Football should be very deep and athletic, and the Crimson Tide just added another quality piece in 4-star defensive lineman Steve Mboumoua.
