In maybe the weirdest turn of events in the new transfer portal era so far for the Alabama Football team Elijah Pritchett has decided he will stick with the Alabama Football team less than 24 hours after announcing he would transfer. The decision for Pritchett to transfer was disappointing as he's still a valuable player for an Alabama Football team that is in the hunt for a National Championship.
Pritchett announced he was staying by saying the following to On3 Sports:
"Transferring is not in my best interest. I apologize for any and all inconveniences. I'm 100% locked in. ROLL TIDE!"- Elijah Pritchett
The decision seems like the right move for Elijah Pritchett while also being great news for Alabama Football. Pritchett will likely be the front-runner to replace right tackle JC Latham who will most likely enter the NFL Draft. The Alabama Football team won't have to worry too much about adding tackle depth in this year's recruiting cycle as they'll return a true freshman in Kadyn Proctor and Pritchett who will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Alabama Football: Transfer Portal providing interesting storylines
This story may be the most interesting story in the new transfer portal era of College Football. There was always a possibility that Pritchett would return but the decision coming less than 24 hours after he decided to enter the portal is shocking. The transfer portal has brought plenty of news to the Alabama Program as they've lost Tyler Buchner, Ja'Corey Brooks, Thaiu Jones-Bell, and others while there will be a massive bump in transfers as the season wraps up. The portal has also brought the possibility of landing top-tier talent as Texas A&M edge rushers Fadil Diggs and LT Overton are in Tuscaloosa this weekend as they decide on new schools to play for.
